Aston Villa secured the signing of Lucia Kendall ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The midfielder joined from WSL2 side Southampton where she had spent the last 10 years.

Kendall had progressed through Southampton's RTC before making her senior debut at 16-years-old, going on to make over 100 appearances for the side.

After three seasons shining in tier 2 at a young age, it was no surprise that Kendall quickly and easily adapted to life in the WSL.

She made her first start for Villa in a 1-1 draw away to Arsenal where she was named the club's Player of the Match.

Kendall bagged her first goal in claret and blue in November 2025 against Second City rivals Birmingham City in the Women's League Cup.

The 21-year-old's debut WSL season continued to get better as she earnt her first senior England call-up back in October, starting in a 3-0 win over Australia where she was also named Player of the Match.

Kendall scored her first goal for the Lionesses two months later in a 2-0 win over Ghana at her childhood club Southampton, in addition to also being named Player of the Match.
