Jenna Nighswonger joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the 25/26 season in January 2026.

The defender made the switch from Arsenal where she had spent the last year.

Nighswonger lifted the UEFA Women's Champions League with the Gunners at the end of her maiden season in Europe.

The 25-year-old began her professional career in the United States with NJ/NY Gotham FC as she was selected 4th in the 2023 NWSL draft.

She played 61 times for the side in addition to winning the NWSL Championship in 2023.

A senior international for the United States, Nighswonger also won gold at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games with the USA.
