Bio
Aston Villa announced the arrival of Ellie Roebuck in July 2025.
The goalkeeper joined the club having spent the 24/25 season with Spanish giants Barcelona.
Roebuck broke onto the scene at only 19-years-old at Manchester City, making her WSL debut in a 0-0 against Chelsea.
She went on to lift both the FA Cup and League Cup during the 18/19 campaign and also claimed the WSL's first-ever Golden Glove award the following season having kept 10 clean sheets in 16 league appearances.
Roebuck's career came to a sudden halt during the 23/24 campaign as she suffered a stroke (left occipital infarct) which saw her miss out on 19 months of football.
She departed Man City at the end of the season and secured a move to Barcelona, making her debut and retun to the pitch in December 2024 in a 4-1 win over Real Betis.
Roebuck made the switch to B6 ahead of the 25/26 season and came off the bench on the opening day of the campaign to help Villa to a clean sheet away to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 26-year-old also kept a clean sheet against her former side Man City in a 0-0 draw at Villa Park in the WSL in March 2026, Villa's first against the side.
The keeper made her senior debut for England in November 2018 and was a part of the side that won UEFA Euro 2022 and came second in FIFA World Cup 2023.
She also started all of Great Britain's games at the 2020 Olympics.
