Aston Villa return to Villa Park for the first time in over a month this afternoon as they take on Manchester City in the Women's Super League.

The side will be searching to make it three wins on the bounce in B6 and extend their unbeaten run to five games across all competitions.

The Villans were last in action last weekend as they travelled to face Everton in the league.

Rachel Daly put her side ahead on the 31st with her fifth goal of the campaign as she headed home a looping cross from Noelle Maritz.

But the team were forced to settle for a point as Veatriki Sarri salvaged a draw for the Toffees with an 89th minute equaliser from the edge of the box.

Manchester City tasted defeat in their last league outing as they were beaten by rivals Manchester 4-2 last Sunday at the Etihad.

Two goals from Ella Toone and another from Leah Galton put United firmly in the driving seat as they lead 3-0 after only 36 minutes on the clock.

Two late first-half goals from Vivianne Miedema and Rebecca Knaak reduced the deficit for City heading into the break.

But seconds after the restart Ella Toone bagged her hat-trick to seal the thumping win which sent United above City in the league table.

Pre-match Thoughts

"Momentum is such a massive thing in football so to continue that winning run at home is massive for us to keep that confidence going. It's another opportunity to do that on Saturday and hopefully we can keep building."
