Ezri Konsa says Aston Villa are feeling positive heading into their UEFA Champions League match against AS Monaco.
The team’s penultimate game of the league phase takes them to Stade Louis II as they look to take a big step towards a top eight finish.
Villa have taken 13 points from their first six games on the club’s first foray into Europe’s top competition since 1983, and Konsa is hoping to maintain their strong form in the competition.

“We’re in high spirits,” he said.
“The morale is good in the camp and we’re focussing on ourselves. It’s a big game tomorrow; we’re in a good position in the table, so we have to try and get the three points.”
Konsa added: “It’s been terrific. Finding out the teams we were going to play, we knew it was going to be difficult.
“We’re a team that believes in ourselves, especially with the manager we have. He’s put so much confidence into us and we’ve gone into every game confident that we were going to win, no matter who we were up against.
“We’re a great team, we’re a good team, and we’ve proven that. Long may it continue.”
Konsa has been reunited with Tyrone Mings in the heart of defence for Villa’s last four matches following an injury to Pau Torres.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed rekindling their partnership and hopes the clean sheets can follow.

He said: “He’s done amazing well and I don’t think we’ve lost a game since I’ve played alongside him.
“To have him back and be playing alongside him is a great feeling. The chemistry we had before he got injured was amazing – we kept 15 clean sheets one season (2020/21).
“For him, it’s important to get this run of games, especially coming back after such a long and horrible injury.
“For him to get rhythm is important and he’s got that now. He’s growing with every game."
Konsa added: “It’s familiar for me. The role he has in the team and the character he is helps me a lot. He has a big voice and you can see that on the pitch.
“I feel very comfortable playing alongside him. When the ball goes over my head, I know he’s going to be there and likewise for him.”
