Calum Chambers praised Aston Villa’s character after they came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Manchester United on Saturday.
Villa found themselves with their backs against the wall at half-time in the final pre-season test of their Australia tour in Perth.
But Leon Bailey reduced the deficit with a superb solo run and strike before Chambers headed home an injury-time equaliser.
And with less than two weeks until the start of the Premier League season, the centre-back hailed the fighting spirit within Villa’s dressing room.
“I think it shows good character in our team,” he told VillaTV.
“Obviously, we don’t really want to be in that position. But to go in it and then come out the other side, it was good character from all of us.
“And it’s nice to get that test before the season starts to show we have that.”
