Bio
Aidan Borland joined Aston Villa's Academy from Scottish giants Celtic in August 2023. He is a talented midfielder who has represented Scotland at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level.
Borland signed his first professional contract in April 2024, just weeks before helping Villa's youngsters lift the Birmingham Senior Cup at Villa Park.
The Scot enjoyed an impressive 2024/25 campaign, captaining Villa's Under-18s to the treble, winning the FA Youth Cup, Under-18 Premier League South division title and Under-18 Premier League National title.
He also captained Villa's Under-19s in all but one of the games in their maiden UEFA Youth League campaign, scoring against eventual winners Barcelona in the round of 16, also making three appearances in the Vertu Trophy.
Featuring in every Premier League 2 game throughout the campaign and starting in all but two, the midfielder was also handed his first team debut off the bench in September 2024 in a Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers.
He was named Villa's Scholar of the Year at the Premier League Academy Awards at the end of that season, just one month after signing a new long-term contract at in B6.
