Aston Villa announced the signing of exciting Egyptian talent, Omar Khedr, from Zed FC in August 2023.

The winger put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement with the club and officially joined on 1 July 2024 when he turned 18, signing a long-term deal.

Khedr’s arrival marked the first signing since Aston Villa and Zed FC entered a collaboration agreement earlier in the year.

Highly sought after, Khedr’s signature was a significant coup for Aston Villa’s Academy, with the Egyptian Under-17 international attracting attention and admiring glances from clubs across the continent and further afield.
