Bio
Evann Guessand arrived at Villa Park in August 2025, signing for an undisclosed fee from French side OGC Nice.
A dynamic forward player who can play in a number of attacking positions, Guessand signed for Aston Villa with nine international caps and one goal already to his name for Ivory Coast.
Born in Ajaccio on the French island of Corsica, the 24-year-old came through the ranks at Nice, making his professional debut in 2020 before loan spells with Nantes and in Switzerland with Lausanne-Sport.
A fine 2024/25 campaign saw him put up 13 goals and a further 10 assists in all competitions, helping Nice finish fourth in Ligue 1 and winning the club’s Player of the Season award.
He also joined Villa with European pedigree ahead of Unai Emery’s side’s campaign in the 2025/26 Europa League, having made 15 appearances and scored two goals in the competition across his time with Nice and Nantes.
