Bio
Donyell Malen became an Aston Villa player in January 2025 when he joined from Borussia Dortmund.
The forward made 17 appearances in his maiden campaign at Villa Park, netting his first goal in claret and blue during a 3-0 triumph away at Brighton & Hove Albion in early April.
Malen scored 39 goals and notched 20 assists in 132 appearances for German giants Dortmund, featuring in a Champions League final for the club.
He came through the ranks at Ajax in his native Netherlands before spending two years in Arsenal's Academy. A move to PSV Eindhoven helped him breakthrough into senior football, and he was a regular goalscorer (55 in 116 matches) during his time in the Eredivisie, winning the league title in 2018.
On the international stage, Malen has won over 40 caps for his country since debuting in September 2019. He's featured at two major tournaments for the Netherlands thus far.
