Ian Maatsen and Samuel Iling Jr both featured for their nations on matchday one of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship on Thursday night, respectively helping Holland and England pick up points.
Maatsen started in a midfield role for Jong Oranje and completed the full match as they came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with Finland. Iling Jr, meanwhile, was introduced as a substitute for the final 12 minutes as the Young Lions made a winning start to life in Group B with a 3-1 triumph over Czechia in Dunajská Streda. Goals from Harvey Elliott and Jonathan Rowe put England in command either side of the break, before Charlie Cresswell completed the scoring after their opponents had halved the deficit.
Lee Carsley's side are level on points with Germany at the top of their group, and will be looking to maintain their strong start on Sunday when taking on Slovenia in Nitra (ko 5pm).

On Wednesday, Andrés García was among the substitutes for Spain who opened the tournament with a thrilling 3-2 victory over hosts Slovakia in Bratislava.
Santi Denia's side sit top of Group A after their first outing, and are next in action on Saturday, taking on Romania, again in the Slovak capital (ko 5pm).
