Lucas Digne helped France claim a 2-0 victory over Germany in their UEFA Nations League third-placed play-off on Sunday.

The Aston Villa left-back completed minutes 90 minutes of the encounter against the hosts in Stuttgart as France secured the bronze medal.

Les Bleus opened the scoring late in the first half through Kylian Mbappe, his 50th international goal, before Michael Olise added a second in the closing stages of the encounter.

It was enough to seal third place, with Spain, who beat France 5-4 in Thursday’s semi-final, facing Portugal in the final.
