It was another unforgettable campaign for Aston Villa, with continued growth both on and off the field throughout 2024/25.
A Champions League quarter-final finish came before a first Wembley appearance in 10 years as the men's side reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, while a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League secured European football for the third consecutive campaign in the form of the Europa League.
It was also another stellar year for our flourishing academy. A maiden UEFA Youth League campaign saw Josep Gombau's Young Lions eliminated by eventual champions Barcelona at the round of 16 stage, while Jimmy Shan's under-18s swept up an unprecedented treble, winning the FA Youth Cup and Under-18 Premier League South division title before beating Manchester City in the national final.
Here, we're taking a look back over some of the most memorable and significant quotes throughout the campaign.

March began with two games on the same day for our first team and under-19s. For the Young Lions, there was another opportunity to grace the hallowed turf at Villa Park, as they bowed out of the UEFA Youth League with a 3-1 defeat to eventual champions Barcelona, before Emery's men secured a 3-1 first leg advantage at Club Brugge in the last 16 of the Champions League.
A vital 1-0 win on the road at Brentford put three points on the Premier League board, before a 3-0 win in the second leg over the Belgian outfit tied up an emphatic 6-1 aggregate win, and sent Villa to the quarter-finals of Europe's elite competition.
A break for international duty brought about the opportunity for a mid-season training camp in Dubai, before returning to competitive action with aplomb. A 3-0 win at Preston North End secured a spot at Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final tie with Crystal Palace, before the under-18s booked their place in the final of the FA Youth Cup with a dramatic penalty-shoot-out victory over Manchester United at Villa Park.

A busy April saw Emery's charges contest no less than eight fixtures across all competitions. A 3-0 win on the road at Brighton & Hove Albion got the month off to a dream start, before a huge 2-1 win over fellow European contenders Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.
The Villans travelled to Paris for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with PSG and, despite taking the lead through Morgan Rogers, fell to a 3-1 defeat, responding with a comfortable 3-0 win on the road at Southampton that weekend.
An unforgettable night under the lights in B6 saw Villa almost achieve the improbable, having fallen 5-1 down on aggregate to PSG in the second leg, however a 3-2 win on the night wasn't enough to book a semi-final spot.
A return to Premier League matters that weekend treated Villa Park to a 4-1 win over Newcastle United, though the month would end in disappointment, as a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Man City was followed by a 3-0 defeat under the Wembley arch to Crystal Palace, as Emery's charges missed out on a place in the FA Cup final.
“Of course, if you’re coming new to a club, you want to get your goals in as soon as possible. I’m happy I could help.”

Morgan Rogers
April 14 – Ahead of Aston Villa’s Champions League quarter-final second leg clash with PSG at Villa Park
