Villa and Hammers share spoils

Aston Villa were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United on Sunday as they extended their unbeaten Premier League sequence to six matches.

Jacob Ramsey set Villa on their way after just eight minutes, coolly converting his maiden league goal of the season - with Ollie Watkins providing the assist for his 100th top-flight goal contribution in claret and blue.

But the Villans were pegged back by Emerson’s 70^th-minute header as it finished honours even.

There was a debut for January signing Donyell Malen as a second-half substitute, while fellow new arrival Andrés García was named in the matchday squad for the first time.

The point leaves Unai Emery’s side still unbeaten at Villa Park in the Premier League since August.
