Aston Villa fell to a 4-2 Premier League 2 defeat at Middlesbrough on Friday evening.

The damage was done in the first half at Bishop Aukland's Heritage Park as the hosts raced into a three-goal lead, giving Josep Gombau's Young Lions a mountain to climb after the break.

Hazeem Bakre completed a hat-trick to make it 4-0 in the second period, though two late strikes from Villa substitute Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba reduced the deficit towards the end.
