Matty Cash hailed Aston Villa’s “amazing” supporters after feeling the backing of over 6,000 travelling fans at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
Villa and Chelsea couldn’t be separated in west London as they played out a goalless draw in their FA Cup fourth-round tie.
And the Villans were roared on throughout by a passionate travelling faithful, who occupied the entire Shed End.
“I heard them all night, they were amazing,” Cash told VillaTV.
“We made it clear in the pre-match that they’re coming here, they’re spending money coming to the stadium.
“6,000 of them, I think they were louder than the whole stadium. So, credit to them.
“For them, it’s a great away day as well. Obviously, we’re gutted we couldn’t get the result for them.”

Douglas Luiz saw his first-half effort ruled out by VAR, while Cash, Youri Tielemans and John McGinn also went close for the visitors.
At the other end, Emi Martínez made a string of excellent saves to keep Chelsea at bay, with the two sides set to go again in a replay at Villa Park next month for a place in the fifth round.
“We always knew it was going to be a tough game coming here,” added Cash.
“I thought we showed character to stay in the game, obviously we didn’t get there in the end with the result we wanted.
“The aim was to win but we didn’t lose, so we’ll take it to a rematch at Villa Park.”
