Bertrand Traoré scored his second goal in as many games but Burkina Faso were denied by Algeria’s injury-time equaliser as the two sides shared a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon.
The Aston Villa forward, who scored a late penalty on Tuesday to secure a dramatic 1-0 victory over Mauritania, again appeared off the bench in the Africa Cup of Nations Group D clash.
And Traoré wasted little time after his 64th-minute introduction, making an almost immediate impact as he again converted from the spot to put Burkina Faso 2-1 ahead.
But Baghdad Bounedjah headed his second of the encounter in the 95th minute to deny the Stallions and ensure the spoils were shared.
Burkina Faso, who reached the AFCON semi-finals in 2021, are now on four points from their first two matches and complete their group stage campaign against Angola on Tuesday (ko 8pm).
