Aston Villa suffered injury-time heartbreak against Tottenham Hotspur in the Under-18 Premier League on Friday.

The Young Lions had staged a superb fightback from a 2-0 half-time deficit to level the scores with nine minutes to play.

A penalty from Charlie Pavey and a goal from Abube Onuchukwu looked to have earned Villa a point.

But in the seventh minute of stoppage time, Tyrese Hall struck a winner for the hosts.

Tottenham came into the match in second place in the U18 Premier League South, and they displayed their title credentials with a strong first half.

Callum Olusesi was felled in the penalty box, allowing Ellis Lehane to step up and send Sam Proctor the wrong way to make it 1-0 after 18 minutes.

Spurs’ second of the afternoon arrived just after the half-hour mark when George Hemmings was dispossessed just outside his penalty box, with the tackler, Hall, advancing before burying a low shot past Proctor.

The score remained 2-0 until the 73rd minute when Pavey got Villa back into the game from the penalty spot.

Nine minutes later the turnaround was complete as Onuchukwu netted after coming off the bench.

But just as Villa looked set to take a point, Hall found space in the box and swept home the winning goal in the dying seconds.
