Aston Villa reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League in pulsating fashion on Thursday night.

Leading 2-1 against LOSC Lille from the first leg at Villa Park, Unai Emery’s side were trailing 2-0 in northern France before Matty Cash rifled home an 87^th-minute strike to make it 3-3 on aggregate and send the quarter-final to extra-time and penalties.

Emi Martínez was then the shoot-out hero as Villa triumphed 4-3 on spot-kicks to secure their spot in the last four of the competition and a tie against Olympiacos.
