Unai Emery has been shortlisted for the Premier League’s September Manager of the Month award.
Aston Villa’s head coach led his team to three wins in four games during the month to earn nine points from a possible 12 and leap to fifth in the league table.
A total of 10 goals were scored during victories over Crystal Palace (3-1), Chelsea (1-0) and Brighton and Hove Albion (6-1).
The win over the Seagulls meant that Emery became the first Aston Villa manager to win 10 consecutive Premier League games at Villa Park; a run that stretches back to March.
