Diego Carlos was named in Aston Villa’s starting line-up for their Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
The centre-back made his fourth league start of the campaign against Spurs and first since the 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers in early October.
Villa head coach Unai Emery, otherwise, kept faith with the same XI who started the 3-1 victory over Fulham last time out prior to the international break.
Captain John McGinn and goalkeeper Emi Martínez were included in Villa’s line-up while Leon Bailey was named among the substitutes, with the trio having overcome knocks sustained on international duty.
There were also places in the matchday 20 for fit-again trio Jacob Ramsey, Álex Moreno and Tim Iroegbunam, but Nicolò Zaniolo and Bertrand Traoré were absent in north London.
