At A Glance
Aston Villa return to domestic action after the international break with a mouth-watering trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
Just one point and one place separate the two sides heading into the weekend, with Spurs fourth and Villa fifth at the start of Matchweek 13 following impressive openings to the season.
Unai Emery's side triumphed 3-1 over Fulham last time out, making it 19 points from the last 24 on offer.
Villa have won all six of their home matches this term while boasting a record of W2 D1 L3 on their travels, falling to a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest in their last fixture on the road.

Spurs go into the encounter on the back of successive league defeats at home to Chelsea and away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ange Postecoglou's side were previously unbeaten before those back-to-back losses prior to the international break, winning four in a row and eight of nine league matches.
The north London club's home record at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season reads W4 D0 L1 following that 4-1 reverse against Chelsea, which saw Spurs reduced to nine men.
Standout Stats
Villa beat Tottenham home and away last season and can win three consecutive Premier League matches against them for only the second time, following a run of four from 1994 to 1996.
Tottenham have not lost consecutive home games against Villa since August 1995.

Spurs had a different manager for each of their four previous league fixtures against Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: Mauricio Pochettino, Ryan Mason, Nuno and Antonio Conte. Ange Postecoglou will be the fifth in as many games.
Previously unbeaten Spurs have suffered back-to-back defeats against Chelsea and Wolves despite opening the scoring in both matches.
Tottenham last lost three league games in a row at the beginning of last year, a run that included defeats against Chelsea and Wolves.
The north London outfit have conceded a league-high six goals in second-half stoppage time this season, including each of their last four.
Villa have equalled the club record of 21 Premier League victories in a calendar year, set in 1998. They last won 22 top-flight games in a single year in 1980.
Villa’s tally of 19 points from eight league matches since the September international break is the highest in the division.

The Villans have the second best goalscoring record in the division prior to this weekend's fixtures, although only six of their 29 goals have come away.
They are unbeaten in their five Premier League visits to London since a 3-0 defeat at Fulham 13 months ago (W3, D2).
Emery is unbeaten in all five league matches he has managed against Spurs.
The Last Meeting
Villa completed a Premier League double over Tottenham last season, including a 2-0 win in north London and 2-1 triumph at Villa Park when the two sides last met.
The triumph in mid-May was a sixth successive home win in the Premier League for the first time since 1993.
Jacob Ramsey set Villa on their way with his fifth goal of the season in the eighth minute, a richly deserved lead for the hosts following a dominant first-half display.
Douglas Luiz then curled home a 25-yard free-kick in the second period, only for Harry Kane to convert an 89th-minute penalty – the first goal conceded at Villa Park since mid-February.
Victory guaranteed a first top-10 finish in 12 years and represented the first time Villa had completed a league double over Spurs since 1995/96, recording only a second league win over the north London club on home soil in the last 15 attempts.
Team News

Captain John McGinn, Emi Martínez, Leon Bailey and Nicolò Zaniolo all sustained knocks on international duty, but head coach Emery is hopeful they will be passed fit for Sunday.
Jacob Ramsey, Diego Carlos, Álex Moreno and Tim Iroegbunam have also returned to training to hand the Villans a big boost ahead of the trip to Spurs.
Yet Villa will be without Bertrand Traoré, who will be missing alongside long-term absentees Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendía.
The Boss
“It’s amazing, the match we are going to play on Sunday. They are playing brilliant, they are really being a very difficult team this season. They are very strong at home and we are going to play against them fighting face-to-face, wanting, having a very good season and being with them. Of course, it’s a very big challenge for everybody. We are playing away as well so we have to be competitive, we have to adapt to them and we have to try to impose our gameplan. I am very motivated for Sunday. The players, as a team, I think they are as well very well motivated after the break.”
