Tyrone Mings helped fulfil the dream of a young Aston Villa fan on Saturday as they walked out together on to the hallowed turf at Villa Park…
Lucy wrote a letter to the club recently to tell us about her passion for the beautiful game, her disabilities and the fun time she enjoys playing football with the Aston Villa Foundation.
The 15-year-old from Solihull is profoundly deaf and wears cochlear implants, and also has autism and a right-sided weakness – although she prefers “to think of my disabilities as superpowers”.
Lucy lives and breathes football and revealed her “ultimate goal is to someday walk out on to the Villa Park pitch and meet some players”.
So, centre-back Mings, one of Lucy’s favourite players, visited her house to surprise her before making that dream come true against Tottenham Hotspur.
