Tyrone Mings is determined to continue Aston Villa’s superb recent run at Villa Park.

The Villans have racked up five straight wins at home – all without conceding a goal – ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s visit to B6 on Saturday.

And Mings says his team can take confidence from that sequence of results when they take to the pitch against Spurs.

“It’s going to be a very, very difficult day trying to keep them quiet, especially the attackers,” he said.

“Hopefully they’re sitting there thinking the same about our attackers, our team and the fact that coming to Villa Park is never easy for any team.

“We’ve got an impressive recent record at home, and we can take confidence from the lack of goals we’ve conceded and the goals that we’ve been scoring at home.

“Hopefully we can use the energy of the crowd to get another three points.”

The game is an important one for both teams’ aspirations of playing in Europe next season, with three points separating them in the battle for a top-seven finish.

Fulham were the visitors to Villa Park in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Mings is savouring the experience of fighting in the top half of the table following three seasons of the team finishing outside of the top ten.

He said: “It’s exciting. Everyone in the dressing room will have been in high-pressure situations throughout their career, but this doesn’t feel like one of them.

“It feels like an exciting moment in time. Things are in our hands to a certain extent. It feels so much nicer than being in a relegation battle.

“We’re relishing it. To be in and around the teams that are fighting for a place in Europe next year is something that when the manager came in, we’d have snapped your hand off for.

“It’s an exciting end to the season.”
