Carla Ward praised the character shown by her Aston Villa squad as they won a fourth successive game on Sunday.
Goals from Rachel Daly and Jordan Nobbs ensured a 2-1 victory at West Ham United; a result which stretches the team's unbeaten run to six games.
Despite West Ham's resurgence late on, Villa stood firm to continue their phenomenal run of form.
“I thought the character this team showed was huge," stated Ward after full-time.
"They’re such a resolute group, they don’t want to roll over."
"We won in a very different way last week [against Everton] and we’ve won in another way today.
"That’s massively important. I’m proud of them. They’ve showed a side of them that is gutsy, together.”

Ward admitted the overall performance of her side was not at the level which has come to be expected during the 2022/23 season.
But the level of satisfaction remained high as the Villa boss believes it shows what her side are truly made of.
“If you’re going to win games having not played the way you’d like, it shows the character the group has," Ward reiterated.
"Credit to West Ham, they made it really difficult and it’s not an easy place to come."
"Three points is massive, it continues the great run of form we’re on. We’ve got to keep working hard, keep improving, keep kicking on."
"There’s seven [league] games to go, which sounds crazy, but we want something out of every single one of those games."
