Bertrand Traoré admitted it was a “fantastic feeling” to be back in action for Aston Villa.
The wide man stepped off the bench just after the hour mark and posed a threat down the right channel in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United.
It was Traoré’s first Villa appearance since May last year having spent the first half of this season on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir FK, before then overcoming injury to return to full fitness.
Speaking to VillaTV post-match, Traoré said: “It was a fantastic feeling.
“I’ve waited for this moment for many weeks now.
“Now I’m back fit, I feel good, I’m in a good place and now is my turn to give back to the fans, my team-mates and the staff.”
In-form Ollie Watkins bagged his sixth goal in seven games to open the scoring at London Stadium.
Yet Said Benrahma’s penalty levelled matters and ensured it finished a point apiece in east London.
“It was a tough game,” added Traoré.
“It’s a tough place to play and I think it was a fair result.
“Both teams tried to get the three points and, in these kinds of games, if you can’t get all the three points you manage to not lose.
“I think it’s a good point away from home.”
