Ezri Konsa says Aston Villa’s participation in the Premier League Summer Series has helped the team to keep growing in confidence.
Villa took on Newcastle United, Fulham and Brentford during their time in the USA, ending the tournament with two draws and a win.
After the team battled back from 2-0 down in their final game against the Bees in Washington DC, Konsa was proud of their progress.

“It’s very pleasing,” he said.
“In my time here at Villa usually when we go two goals down to an opponent, we don’t really come back from that.
“Everyone can see how much we’re changing as a team, how confident we are and how we’re growing. Today showed that.”
Konsa signed off from America by scoring “hands down” the best goal of his career, dribbling from the edge of his own box before firing home from the edge of Brentford’s.
It capped a strong tour for the defender and the squad, whose new additions, Pau Torres, Youri Tielemans and Moussa Diaby, have settled in seamlessly.

Konsa said: “I’ve really enjoyed it. We’ve added a couple more players and they’ve been able to come out here and bond with us.
“We all had a good time and we’re ready to go back home and work again.”
On the fan support in the USA, he added: “They’ve been amazing. Without them we wouldn’t have enjoyed the games as much as we have.”
“A big shout out to them and a big thank you.”
