Juan Pablo Ángel became an Aston Villa cult hero with his goals in claret and blue.
And the Colombian delivered a special message to his countryman Jhon Durán after the 19-year-old followed in his footsteps and signed for Villa.
The similarities between Ángel and Durán extend beyond their position and nationality, with both players born in the city of Medellín.
So when a heartfelt message from Ángel was played on the big screens at Villa Park, an unsuspecting Durán was taken aback.
“I’m happy for the things that you are doing for me and my family,” he said.
“Seeing a message from a person who brought so much happiness to our country, and he is an idol here, it’s a very touching thing.
“I’m happy to be here and do the same and maybe a little bit more than him. I will work to follow in his steps and continue the Colombian legacy.”
