Aston Villa were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup by a ruthless Southampton at Villa Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan turned home the opening goal of the fourth round tie after 28 minutes as the away side edged an even first half.
Saints were clinical in the second half, netting further goals via Tyler Dibling’s brace and another for Morgan.
The Young Lions had something to show for their efforts in the final minutes when Omari Kellyman produced a smart turn and finish.

The Under-18s were back at Villa Park for the first time since they demolished Brentford 5-0 in the third round back in December, and their starting lineup from that game was strengthened by Josh Feeney and Kadan Young.
An entertaining 3-3 draw was played out when the sides met in league action earlier in the season and they were well-matched during the early stages as both sides battled to assert themselves.
Twenty-two minutes had passed by the time James Wright made the first save of the match, easily gathering a long-range shot that had been deflected by Finley Munroe.
The Villa ‘keeper was forced into more pressing minutes later when he rushed out to meet Morgan and divert his effort inches wide of the far post.

From the resulting corner, Wright came out to claim the ball before dropping it at the feet of Morgan, leaving the Saints winger with a simple tap-in.
Munroe fired a vicious long-range shot to challenge Adli Mohamed for the first time before Wright was called upon once again to deny Dominic Ballard.
A diving header from Kyrie Pierre and a rasping shot from Kellyman offered the hosts encouragement as they headed back to the dressing rooms a goal down.
However, hopes of a comeback were dampened when the visitors scored their second of the game in the 51st minute.

Saints broke quickly and decisively after winning possession on the halfway line, with Dibling tucking Morgan’s cross past Wright at his near post.
With just over an hour played, Southampton’s no10 provided a moment of pure quality to make it 3-0.
Dibling picked the ball up in his own half before carrying the it to edge of Villa’s penalty area and sending a fierce low shot into the bottom corner.
Despite the scoreline, Villa were creating chances. Pierre, Young and Kerr Smith all threatened the goal but were unable to steer their efforts on target.
And while the home side’s sights were off, the visitors were making the most of their chances, bagging a fourth when Morgan collected Ballard’s through ball and finished with conviction.
Villa's endeavour was finally rewarded after 86 minutes when Kellyman received the ball in the box before turning and sending a shot in off the far post.
