Lucy Staniforth is eager to fight on all fronts for Aston Villa Women.

The York-born attacker has signed an 18-month deal following the termination of her contract at Manchester United.

Staniforth is an experienced player having spent time with Sunderland, Lincoln, Bristol City, Liverpool and Birmingham City before joining United in 2020.

The 30-year-old has also earned 17 senior caps with the Lionesses.

And Staniforth is focusing on capitalising on the number of games left to play this season.

“You want to try and take as many points as possible, especially from the teams in and around you," said our latest signing.

"Just to continue that progression and try to get as far as we can in both cups. There’s a lot to play for.”

Staniforth admitted to being impressed having seen Villa's development since their promotion to the top flight in 2020, with their recent showings being a motivating factor in joining.

“I’m really excited," the forward beamed.

"Seeing how the club’s progressed over the last few years; it’s something I wanted to be a part of and there’s so much to look forward to in the future.”
