Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez has been nominated for the FIFA 23 Team of the Year.
Martínez has been named as one of 100 nominees who have been recognised for their performances throughout 2022.
The 'keeper ended the year on a high as he played a key role in Argentina's triumph at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, picking up the tournament's Golden Glove award in the process.
He saved crucially from Kingsley Coman in the final shoot-out, following his incredible stop from France's Randal Kolo Muani in the closing stages of extra time, as well as heroics against Netherlands and Australia earlier in the knock-out stage.
Martínez also signed a contract extension with Aston Villa at the start of the year, while he captained the side for the first time during the 4-0 win over Brentford at Villa Park in October.
