VillaWorks celebrated its one-year anniversary with a special event at Villa Park last week.

Founded with the purpose of building business relationships through Aston Villa, the group has provided opportunities to attend networking events for both existing and new regional and national companies since launching in January 2022.

And on Thursday, February 9, businesses from in and around Birmingham gathered in the Gas Lamp for a celebration event to commemorate one year of VillaWorks.

Andy Sax provided the music as guests enjoyed food and drink before reflecting on the growth of the initiative.

In its first year, VillaWorks registered over 800 guests for a variety of networking events at Villa Park and beyond.

Success Story

VillaWorks’ positive influence has been exemplified by the relationship with Homeserve and their CEO James Lane.

James was invited to the launch of VillaWorks last year, making connections within the club that led to Homeserve Furniture Repairs becoming an Official Partner in July.

Starting his business up in 2004, James has grown from one man and a van to the point where he is now employing 280+ staff locally and across the UK.

He said: “Going back almost a year ago, we were approached to attend the first networking event (VillaWorks) and we kindly accepted.

“We really enjoyed the event and this is where our initial partnership conversation started. I’d been looking at growing our business and brand through various marketing channels but what better way to do that than with Aston Villa.

“A big thank you to Isaak D’Amico (New Business Hospitality Sales Manager) for putting us on this amazing journey with Aston Villa Football Club.”
