Aston Villa have experienced a new manager bounce since Unai Emery’s arrival.

He took charge ahead of the Gameweek 15 match against Manchester United, one of five wins during the subsequent seven Premier League matches.

As a result, the Villans are high on the agenda of many Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers looking for investment.

Douglas Luiz (£4.8m) is one of only four players to have started every league under Emery. His four attacking returns in this time rank joint-top across the Villa team, alongside forward Ollie Watkins (£7.1m).

The Brazilian has also registered four bonus points in this period, which only Emi Buendía (£5.7m) betters with five.

Between Gameweeks 15 and 21, Luiz registered one goal, three assists and two clean sheets, earning his owners a total of 33 FPL points. For midfielders priced £5.5m and under, only five players can beat this points tally.

Furthermore, he has supplied 14 crosses since Gameweek 15 and created 12 chances for his team-mates. Of those 12, three have been classified as ‘big chances’.

Taking eight corners in this time is also team-leading, with four crosses from free-kicks and two attempts from set-pieces. Having such a set-piece threat is certainly part of the appeal for FPL managers.

At a budget-friendly £4.8m, this is a chance to invest in a midfielder with an attacking threat heading into February's fixtures. Luiz could be a great investment for FPL managers for Gameweek 22 and beyond.
