Boubacar Kamara returned for Aston Villa’s Premier League clash against Manchester City.

The midfielder missed Sunday’s 2-2 draw at AFC Bournemouth due to a one-match suspension but was back in Unai Emery’s starting XI at Villa Park.

It proved to be the sole change from last weekend’s encounter on the south coast, with Nicolò Zaniolo named among the substitutes.

Otherwise, head coach Emery, taking charge of his 50th Villa match, named an unchanged line-up, while goalkeeper Filip Marschall replaced Robin Olsen in the matchday 20.

Aston Villa: Martínez, Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Digne, Bailey, Tielemans, Luiz, McGinn, Kamara, Watkins.

Subs: Marschall, Cash, Moreno, Lenglet, Diaby, Zaniolo, Durán, Dendoncker, Ramsey.

Man City: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol, Lewis, Stones, Foden, Silva, Álvarez, Haaland.

Subs: Ortega, Carson, Phillips, Aké, Kovacic, Gómez, Nunes, Bobb.
