Aston Villa were denied their first Premier League 2 victory of the season on Friday night as Manchester City levelled late on in a pulsating 4-4 draw.

Travis Patterson and Omari Kellyman put the Young Lions into a 2-0 lead, while Villa captain Tommi O’Reilly made it 3-1 with just 22 minutes on the clock after City had reduced the advantage.

Taione Sodje hit back again for the hosts before Kellyman and Justin Oboavwoduo both bagged braces to make it 4-3 at the interval following a breathless first half.

And that was the way it remained until the 89th minute as Farid Alfa-Ruprecht netted a last-gasp leveller for City, with Villa thwarted as they picked up their first point of the campaign.
