Aston Villa Under-17s triumphed 4-0 over Liverpool on Wednesday night to cap an impressive sweep of progression for our Academy teams into the Premier League Cup quarter-finals.
Rory Wilson bagged a hat-trick and Triston Rowe got his name on the scoresheet as the Young Lions topped their group containing Liverpool, Everton and West Bromwich Albion.
In doing so, they booked their place in the last eight of the competition and matched the notable achievements of Villa’s Under-16 and Under-18 sides.
They had both already topped their respective groups containing Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle, and secured their spots in the knockout stages.
