Jacob Ramsey is looking to continue to his impressive form for club and country as Aston Villa embark upon their final nine matches of the campaign.

The 20-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a stellar season to date, making 27 Premier League appearances, scoring six goals and registering one assist.

Ramsey has also continued his fine performances at international level, bagging his first goal for England’s Under-21s last week, a super strike in a 4-1 victory over Andorra.

Reflecting on his international period with the Young Lions, Ramsey told VillaTV: “It was really good.

“Obviously the game before against Arsenal was a little bit disappointing, but to then go away with England Under-21s and get my first international goal, it was a good week.

“It was a great moment (getting my first goal). My family and friends were in the stadium and it was a good goal as well.

“To score for England at any level is good, but especially at Under-21s.”

Ramsey is now firmly focused on the return of the Premier League and helping Villa get back to winnings ways at Wolves this weekend.

The youngster made his first Premier League start in the 1-0 victory at Molineux last season, putting in a performance which was a sign of impressive things to come.

The Academy graduate is expecting a stern test from Villa's midlands neighbours on Saturday, but he is keen to use the derby clash as a springboard for a positive finish to the season.

Ramsey added: “I think the aims (for the rest of the campaign) are probably just to get higher up the table.

“We’ve had a decent little run, three wins out of three before, so I think as a team we need to get back into that rhythm and start winning games.

“We had a good month last month so we know we can do it.

“Everyone’s got full focus on getting back to that form and putting in consistent performances.”
