Ollie Watkins told of the “unbelievable feeling” he experienced when making his first start for England on Tuesday night.
The striker, who won his seventh cap, scored the opening goal of a 3-0 win against the Ivory Coast at Wembley.
Watkins was a late addition to the squad, and he was delighted to get the opportunity to show what he can do.

“It was an unbelievable feeling to make my first start for England,” he said.
“I was just trying to make the most of every moment out there, not feel any pressure and just play my game.”
He added: “When I got the call, I’m always happy to come away with England – work hard and when I knew I was going to get the opportunity I thought I’ve got to take it with both hands.
“I’ve done all I can tonight and we will go from there.”

Aston Villa teammate Tyrone Mings was named in the starting line-up alongside Watkins and the centre-back also got on the scoresheet to cap a proud night for the club.
Watkins’ family, who were in attendance at the national stadium, also left the game beaming with pride.
He said: “I just wanted to enjoy every moment, not put any pressure on myself and go out there and enjoy it.
“My family and friends are here to watch and what a moment for them to watch me and also for myself.”
