Carney Chukwuemeka was again on target for England as they secured their spot in the semi-finals of the European Under-19 Championship on Wednesday night.

The Aston Villa midfielder continued his impressive form, registering his second goal and second assist in as many games as the Young Lions brushed aside Serbia 4-0 in Slovakia.

Aaron Ramsey also bagged an assist as England followed up their opening 2-0 win over Austria earlier this week to guarantee a top-two finish in Group B and a semi-final place.

Victory also sealed their spot at next year’s U20 World Cup in Indonesia.

Chukwuemeka, who started alongside Villa team-mate Tim Iroegbunam, provided the pass for Dane Scarlett to open the scoring after five minutes before the striker doubled his and England’s tally prior to the break.

And it was Chukwuemeka who pounced on a loose pass to add a third in the 68th minute, surging forward before sending a well-placed low finish into the far corner.

The 18-year-old then combined with second-half substitute Ramsey, who sent clear Daniel Jebbison to add a fourth in injury time.

England finish their Group B matches against Israel on Saturday (ko 7pm) ahead of their semi-final showdown against either France or Italy.
