Jacob Ramsey scored the decisive goal as England's Under-21s beat Czech Republic 2-1 to go top of their 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying group.

Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring for Lee Carsley's side before Ramsey fired home from close range just after the break to double the advantage, with the Young Lions holding on for three Group G points despite Daniel Fila's late strike for the hosts.

Cameron Archer's impressive 2021/22 campaign continued in Ceské Budejovice as he came off the bench for the final 22 minutes to make his U21 international debut.

In Group A, Viljami Sinisalo captained Finland's Under-21s to a stunning 3-2 victory in Austria. 

Finland were trailing 2-1 with just seven minutes remaining, but goals from Daniel Håkans and Julius Tauriainen secured a dramatic win to keep Sinisalo's side in qualifying contention.

Tyreik Wright and the Republic of Ireland's Under-21s are also maintaining hopes of qualification after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 in Group F, with Wright playing the full 90 minutes. 

In the UEFA Nations League, Lucas Digne was an unused substitute for France's 2-1 defeat at home to Denmark.
