Aston Villa got back to winning ways as Emi Buendía’s header secured a 1-0 triumph against Everton.

The Argentina international flicked home Lucas Digne’s corner in first-half injury time to hand Villa a deserved lead, which they preserved to record a hard-fought clean sheet and secure all three points at Goodison Park.

It secured a first Premier League double over the Toffees since 2001/01, following Villa’s 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
