Aston Villa has opened its new Changing Places toilet facility at Villa Park.

Changing Places toilets are different to standard accessible toilets as they have extra features that allow for more space to meet the needs of those who use them.

They are larger than a standard disabled toilet and include a height-adjustable bench, a hoist and room for two carers/personal assistants.

Villa have been working hard to install a Changing Places facility since the beginning of the season, with this just one of several continued investments the club is making for its disabled supporters.

It forms an important part of our equality and diversity campaign, ‘All in’, which strives to ensure supporters, staff and everyone connected to Aston Villa Football Club feel an equal sense of belonging.

Joanne McKibbens, head of the DSA was present with Villa legend Brian Little to open the facility, and said: “After many meetings and continued collaboration, I am immensely proud that our club have installed a Changing Places facility.

“We are getting much closer to being fully accessible to all and this is a very positive step.”

Aston Villa Disability Access Officer Anthony Richards said: “We are all incredibly proud to install a Changing Places toilet.

“We value everyone connected to our club and we want all supporters at Villa Park to feel like they belong here and enjoy an equal matchday experience.”

The Changing Places toilet was opened for last Saturday’s home fixture against Watford and will be available for all matches onwards.

The facility is located on the ground floor of the Trinity Road Stand, allowing step-free access for all visitors who may need to use it.

Supporters wishing to sit in a different area of the stadium and still have access can do so, with the club happy to accommodate and assist on a matchday.

The facility is available for use by all fans. When purchasing tickets, please let the club know you would like to use the Changing Places toilet so we can discuss any additional needs and ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
