Tyrone Mings says Aston Villa are learning more each day under head coach Unai Emery.
The Spaniard was appointed just over two months ago and has since taken charge of four competitive matches and has also navigated a winter break for the World Cup.
Speaking after the Boxing Day loss against Liverpool, Mings said the players are working hard on implementing Emery’s ideas.

“We’re learning what the manager wants from us in different phases of the game,” he said.
“We’re starting to see little bits of it. I think we’re a long way off, but we’ve got a fantastic team of individuals who want to learn and work hard for each other.
“Today (Boxing Day) was frustrating because we didn’t put the ball in the net as much as we’d like but that’s not me saying the attackers should have been better because we should have defended the goals better as well.”
Villa were far from overawed against the Reds at Villa Park as they ended 2022 with reasons to be positive heading into the New Year.

However, Mings felt his team contributed to their own downfall rather than being outclassed.
He said: “Every team in this league if you give them that amount of chances are going to score at some point.
“It was frustrating on our behalf. It wasn’t a case of them being too strong for us, I just think we should have defended better for their goals.”
