Ezri Konsa is keen to see Aston Villa show the consistency which helped secure a three-match winning sequence last month.

Villa recorded successive victories against Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Leeds United, scoring an impressive nine goals in the process and keeping three clean sheets.

But that has been followed by three defeats in a row, with Tottenham Hotspur the visitors to Villa Park this Saturday (ko 5.30pm).

And centre-back Konsa is determined to see the Villans get back to winning ways.

Reflecting on the loss to Wolves last weekend, he told VillaTV: “Us, as players, all knew it wasn’t good enough, especially in the first half.

“It hasn’t been good enough for the last three games.

“It’s tough because we’ve been in this situation before.

“I think, for me, it’s just about us showing consistency, when we won three games in the row, if we can get back to that form, I think that would be great.”

Konsa added: “For me, I think it’s just about sticking together.

“Everyone knowing their roles and sticking to the game plan.

“As I said before, we won three in a row and everyone knew their roles, we all stuck to the game plan.

“I feel if we can show that consistency again, it will be tough for teams to come up against us.”

Steven Gerrard’s side head into the final eight matches of the campaign currently occupying 11th place in the Premier League standings, one point adrift of ninth-placed Crystal Palace.

Villa haven’t sealed a top-10 Premier League finish since 2010/11 when the club were in ninth position on 48 points.

Konsa was part of the Villa side who racked up 55 points last term, although the Villans ended the campaign in 11th.

And he insists it is definitely a motivating factor between now and the end of May.

“We speak about that, as players, where we want to finish,” said the 24-year-old.

“Obviously we want to finish in the top half, it’s something we haven’t done in a long while and it’s a goal for us to try and achieve this season with eight games remaining.

“I think it’s possible for us to do.”
