Aston Villa are once again teaming up with the No.1 independent fantasy football site in 2021/22.
Fantasy Football Scout will be providing regular reports packed with hints and tips to help you, hopefully, move into the top tier of fantasy football management.
If you need some guidance ahead of GW4, sit back and take their advice on board…
Aston Villa assets were in demand for the first three Gameweeks of the season and statistics suggest we should perhaps be looking to hold on to our Villans.
A tough September awaits with games against Chelsea (A), Everton (H) and Manchester United (A) but Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers can take confidence from a number of stats.
Danny Ings (£8.0m) has already produced two goals and an assist this term, and returned against this weekend’s opponents Chelsea, plus Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur while at Southampton last season.
Team-mate Ollie Watkins (£7.3m) also stepped up in the big matches, netting goals against Liverpool (home and away), Arsenal (home and away), Spurs and Everton.
The forward duo are yet to start a Premier League match alongside each other for Villa and could well thrive.
So far this season, Dean Smith’s troops have posted some solid defensive numbers, having only conceded 31 shots across their opening three matches. Encouragingly, only three sides - Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool - have allowed fewer.
Villa’s 2.31 expected goals conceded (xGC) total also stands out and does suggest they have been a little unfortunate to concede four Premier League goals so far.

In terms of personnel, Matty Cash (£5.0m) has impressed, winning all 11 of his attempted tackles.

When compared to other £5.0m defenders in the game, Cash sits fifth for touches in the opposition half with 98.
He also has six interceptions, 17 recoveries and six successful clearances, while his touch heatmap from the opening three Gameweeks highlights his attacking movement, and suggests he may be able to add to last season’s two assists, one of which arrived against Chelsea, in the coming weeks.
