Leon Bailey described his goalscoring Villa Park bow as “such an amazing feeling” having produced an impactful cameo against Everton.

The pacy wide man stepped off the bench shortly after the hour mark against the Toffees and played just 21 minutes before being forced off due to injury.

Yet it was a devasting spell which included three Villa goals in nine minutes, including Bailey's inswinging corner which led to Lucas Digne’s own goal and his blistering strike for the third in front of the Holte End.

It proved enough to seal the club’s man of the match vote and Bailey throroughly enjoyed his maiden home appearance.

He told VillaTV: “It’s my second time at Villa Park, the first time I was injured watching from the stands.

“But to actually be on the pitch, hearing the fans, it’s such an amazing feeling.

“I’m happy to be here, just grateful I was able to do what I did in the 21 minutes that I was on the pitch.

“For us, it’s the perfect night – good three points, team played great, we’re excited.”
