To mark World Mental Health Day, captain Tyrone Mings sat down with Aston Villa Foundation ambassador Katharine Merry and Villa fan Gemma Broad to discuss the importance of caring for your mental health.
Sunday, October 10 is World Mental Health Day, an international day aimed at educating people on the importance of mental health.
Tyrone showed his support for this important cause by opening up about his own mental health, discussing the importance of doing so and the positive impact of footballers using their platforms to inspire others to open up about their mental health.
"There have been a lot of high-profile cases... I think in this country we're getting there. The last 12 or 18 months has certainly taught us a lot about how important our mental health is"
Tyrone Mings
The discussion was filmed as part of the Foundation's TeamWork programme, which supports fans using physical and digital engagement and showcases supporters like Gemma as positive role models to inspire others to speak out and normalise the conversation around mental health.
