Aston Villa were soundly beaten in their latest Under-18 Premier League clash against Leicester City on Tuesday evening.

The visiting Villans were looking to do the double over their opponents after a 2-1 win on the opening day of the season, but their side was much-changed from that game, featuring a number of younger Academy players.

And any hopes of picking up a victory were extinguished by the ruthless Foxes, who took the lead after 22 minutes through Will Russ.

Leicester looked set to take their slender lead into the break, but they pushed further ahead when Zach Booth netted on 43 minutes.

And the hosts made the perfect start to the second half, extending their advantage when Aaron O’Reilly put through his own net with less than a minute played.

Brandon Cover made it 4-0 after 69 minutes before Dewain Sewell netted his second goal of the league season as Villa pulled one back in the final ten minutes.

With the game approaching stoppage time, Cover put the finishing touches on a resounding win for the home side.

Villa drop to fifth in the table after the loss, with two games left to play in the league.
