Bertrand Traore’s stunning strike against Manchester United has been shortlisted for May’s Premier League Goal of the Month.

The Aston Villa wide man collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area, performed an exquisite turn to get the better of Victor Lindelof before rifling an unstoppable left-footed effort across goal and into the top corner off the underside of the crossbar.

Traore’s goal handed Dean Smith’s side a half-time advantage against United before they fell to a 3-1 defeat in the clash at Villa Park on May 9.

And the superb effort has been nominated for the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award, with Villa fans able to vote below now.

Traore will be up against Danny Welbeck (Brighton & Hove Albion), Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal), Luke Thomas (Leicester City), Ferran Torres (Manchester City) Edinson Cavani (Manchester United), Phil Foden (Manchester City) and Steven Bergwijn (Tottenham Hotspur).

Voting closes at 6pm on Wednesday, May 26 and the winner is announced on Friday, May 28.

Good luck, Bertrand!
