Aston Villa will face Liverpool in the final of the FA Youth Cup after a dominant 4-1 semi-final victory over West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park.

Strikes from Carney Chukwuemeka, Louie Barry and Brad Young as well as an own goal secured the win, with Villa now set to contest the final for the first time since 2010.

West Brom had made a decent start but it didn't take the home side long to find their rhythm and Chukwuemeka made the most of a defensive error inside 10 minutes, rifling his shot beyond Maksy Boruc at his near post.

The visitors got back into the game just four minutes later, with a corner deflecting off Sil Swinkels and past Filip Marschall to level the scores.

Villa continued to apply the pressure and retook the lead midway through the first half, with Barry curling an unstoppable effort beyond Boruc and into the far corner.

That strike halted any momentum that West Brom were building and Villa were threatening to put the tie beyond doubt before the break, with Young having a couple of good opportunities.

He shot just wide with a low drive before running clear in behind and rolling a second effort inches past the post.

Kaine Kesler had a great chance to continue his fine goalscoring form after he found space with an overlapping run, but his shot was smothered by the West Brom goalkeeper.

Villa continued to play some excellent attacking football in the second half, with Barry sending a free-kick just wide of the target on 48 minutes.

The striker then had another effort deflected over the crossbar following neat build-up play involving Chukwuemeka and Kesler, before the lead was doubled in slightly fortunate circumstances on the hour-mark.

Barry was enjoying himself on the left-hand side and after beating his man and sending a ball into the box, West Brom couldn't clear and Ethan Ingram ended up clearing the ball into his own net.

The visitors toiled as they fought to get back into the game, with Jovan Malcolm sending a tired effort just wide, before Young finally got his much-deserved goal after more neat work by Barry on the left.

There was still time for Tom Fellows to hit the post for West Brom as the clock ran down, but the full-time whistle ensured that Sean Verity's side will face Liverpool at Villa Park in the final later this month.
